Research on Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Potential in the Scottish Transport Sector

The Scottish Govt is inviting proposals to conduct a research project to understand how recent scientific and technological developments in respect of, batteries, fuel cells and alternative fuel options for transport are likely to alter the pathways by which Scotland could deliver its 2050 road fleet ambition.

Specifically, the study will aim to:

  • review recent developments in fuels, batteries and fuel cell technologies and profile the likely take up and penetration of these technologies in the different modes of transport in Scotland
  • identify any critical barriers to overcome in delivering the change or any particular opportunities likely to arise in the period out to 2032.

The deadline is 25 August.
