The Linnean Society invites applications for several funding opportunities.

Systematics research fund

This supports small-scale research projects in the field of systematics and taxonomy. Contributions are typically made towards fieldwork expenditure, the purchase of scientific equipment or expertise, specimen preparation and publication costs.

The deadline for applications is 15 Jan 16.

Anne Sleep award

This aims to assist one or more scholars to carry out biological research in the Middle or Far East, or scholars from the Middle or Far East to pursue their own biological research in the UK.

Dennis Stanfield memorial fund grants

This supports persons of scientific merit to undertake botanical research on tropical African plants.

Appleyard fund

Grants from this fund contribute towards the costs of research projects in the fields of botany or zoology.

The deadline for the above three is Sept 2016.
