Horizon%202020

The European Commission have announced that Tunisia will be added to the list of Associated Countries for Horizon 2020 from 1 January 2016 – subject to ratification by the Tunisian Parliament. As with other countries with association agreements, this means that partners from Tunisia will be able to participate on an even footing with EU Member States from 1 January 2016.

In practical terms this means organisations can participate in and lead proposals on a funded basis and that partners will count towards the minimum requirements for consortia. The decision will NOT be applied retrospectively from the start of Horizon 2020, so will NOT apply to any proposals that are currently being reviewed.

A full list of Associated Countries is available here. For more information on funding for non-EU countries in Horizon 2020 take a look at the European Commission’s ‘Open to the World’ publication.
