The Higher Education Academy are seeking research on the following issue:
Teaching excellence in the disciplines: The range, distinctiveness and impact of pedagogic approaches across disciplines within Specified Location higher education.
There has been considerable work on disciplinary pedagogies both in the US and Australia, and consideration of the influence of disciplinary context and cultures on learning and teaching in the Specified Location. While there have been many individual studies of teaching approaches employed within specific disciplines within Specified Location higher education (HE), we do not have a comprehensive synthesis to provide a picture of the different teaching practices used across disciplines and the impact these have on student learning outcomes. This research call aims to address this gap by inviting proposals to investigate the range, distinctiveness, balance and effectiveness of approaches to learning and teaching employed within different disciplinary groupings within Specified Location HE, and the impact these have on student learning outcomes.
Deadline for proposals: 16 February
