Walking Project – Creating Stronger Communities and Reduce Health Risks

Cambridgeshire County Council Economy, Transport and Environment Department seeks to increase walking levels of inactive residents from within the Greater Cambridge region in order to improve the health of its population. The Council is looking for innovative ways to promote walking, particularly amongst those that live in deprived areas. The aim of the project is to reduce physical-activity health inequalities by encouraging a culture of active travel in relatively deprived areas within the Greater Cambridge area. Groups could include socially isolated people, as well as sedentary individuals which would help to create stronger local communities and to reduce the health risks. Thus, the Council is looking for somebody to supply and deliver a programme that sets up and arranges walking activities in relatively deprived areas within the Greater Cambridge region.

Deadline for proposals: 21 March

Funding available: £30,000
