Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council look to review the current service provision for the identification, referral and support for pregnant smokers and the outcomes achieved. The council is wishing to appoint a provider to deliver a Smoking in pregnancy review, which will deliver the following outcomes: Map that provision against the current NICE guideline, the available evidence base and examples of best practice. Develop a service plan based on the findings which will include recommendations regarding service provision, training and required resources along with any costs. The recommendations will include some predictions as to the improvement in outcomes and savings which could be achieved by implementing the plan. Recommendations will focus on issues such as communication, identification, performance data and analysis, pharmacological support and training.
