Challenging Behaviour Training

Currently, the North Yorkshire County Council HAS Challenging Behaviour training is provided in 4 levels for staff supporting people who present with behaviour which is challenging and this is a mandatory requirement. The main staff groups accessing this training are NYCC HAS Learning Disability in-house provider services and Mental Health services. The overall levels are: Level 1 Understanding, preventing and managing challenging behaviour; Level 2: Responding to low risk physically challenging behaviour; Level 3: Responding to higher risk physically challenging behaviour; Level 4: Physical intervention skills and safe holding Refresher for those trained to level 3 & 4.
