Arthritis Research UK are determined to make a difference to the lives of people with arthritis and will be launching an exciting new challenge next month.
The focus of this challenge is on discovery and early translational research.
The call aims to move research further and faster on the pathway to developing a cure and more effective treatments for people with arthritis. This new phase of investment from the funder reinforces there commitment to push new boundaries of musculoskeletal research.
The challenge will seek to fund ambitious and innovative research which aims to build on and expand previous work in the field, as well as inspire new original research ideas. Funded research resulting from the call will be expected to lay the foundations for long-term impact on the quality of life for people with arthritis.
The aim is to stimulate a step change in the field such that a cure becomes closer to reality for the millions of people in the UK who live with a musculoskeletal condition.
The call will open on 30 November 2016 when more details of the call will be released.
Applicants will be invited to submit an outline proposal to a deadline in February 2017 and final funding decisions are expected to be made in November 2017.
